Go on to the Core

Description

We stay hungry and thirsty until we allow God to quench our core appetites.

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. (Psalm 107:9)

To understand your “appetites,” think of three concentric circles. The outermost is your “casual appetites,” your preferences, ranging from salad dressing to songs. The second circle is your “critical appetites,” like vital relationships. The inner circle represents your “core appetites,” the deepest hunger and thirst. Dr. Larry Crabb says we try to change our lives and satisfy our needs only on the surface. But we stay hungry and thirsty until we allow God to quench our core thirst and hunger.
