Glimpses of Glory
Romans 3:23 (NIV®)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
We were created to bring glory to Almighty God, but we all fall short of that. That is universal; no one is exempt. But even in a fallen world, we get glimpses of that glory. When parents see their newborn child, there is a sense of an almost unbridled joy. It’s a “Yay, God!” moment. Only God can do that. When God imagined you before the creation of the world, He intended that you would cause people to think, “Yay, God!” Instead we often cause people to think, “Oh, me.” We live in a fallen world. The problem is sin, and the only resolution, the only remedy, is Jesus’ death on the cross—a complete, total, absolute, finished, irrevocable defeat of sin.
Heavenly Father, I come before You in humility to repent of my sin. Where I have chosen ungodliness, where I have chosen to set aside your counsel, I am sorry and ask You to forgive me. I praise You for the great honor of bearing the name of Jesus. Thank You that I am washed clean because of His sacrifice for me. May I be found faithful today. In His name I pray, amen.
