Glass Half Empty
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
Some people call it being realistic. Others say they’re just telling it like it is or that they’ve taken off the rose-colored glasses. But no matter how we try to disguise it, negativity will always take us from the light into darkness.
We all have people in our lives who see the proverbial glass as being half empty. If we have a new plan or idea, these people find every reason, plausible or not, of why it won’t work. And if we don’t find a way to navigate around their negativity, they’ll bring us down to their level.
But these destructive naysayers do more than spread a negative comment now and then. They can actually prevent us from doing God’s work—but only if we let them.
Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by those who do not believe in God’s plan for our lives. Don’t follow the negative crowd. Remember, God is always with you. And with his help, through prayer and dedication to his work, you can remain focused on his plan for your life and succeed.
Dear God, Please help me navigate around the negative people in my life who are trying to keep me from accomplishing the plans and purpose you have laid out for me. Help me to not be deceived by their words. And keep shining your light on my path so that I can always see the truth. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
