Give Thanks!

Description

As moms, we get so busy with our lives that we forget to stop and give thanks to God for the many blessings He has given us.

Colossians 3:15-17

Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

As moms, we get so busy with our lives that sometimes we forget to just stop for a moment and give thanks to God for the many blessings he has given us. Whether it is for great health of you and your children, or for a loving husband, or for a home that you can feel safe and secure in every night. Whatever you have, offer it up for thanks to God. We are so blessed in so many ways.

As I look out my bedroom window writing this devotional to you wonderful moms, I am giving thanks to God for the beautiful display of fall color on the trees. It is like a rich array of color throughout the woods behind my house. One time when we lived in Virginia, my son Taylor, was about 3 or 4. He walked into my bedroom and looked out the window and said, “Who painted the leaves?” I loved that thought of someone going around and painting the leaves in the fall. I smiled and told Taylor that God painted them in the fall and he would bring new leaves in the spring.  What a wonderful God we serve to color our world in such a beautiful way!

As you gather around the table tonight for dinner, thank God for the many blessings He has given.
