Give God Your Attention
Pay attention, Job, and listen to me; be silent, and I will speak. (JOB 33:31)
When I have to drive long distances, I listen to the radio. The more remote the area, the fewer the stations to choose from, and I find myself listening to programs I’ve never heard before, just because there’s nothing else. But as soon as I approach a city, the signals are jammed with one voice on top of another.
Our lives can be like that radio dial, so jammed with signals that even when we tune in to God’s voice it gets drowned out by other voices. If we’re to hear Him clearly, we have to have times of quietness.
There are times when I think God is silent, but in reality He’s speaking; I’m just not listening.
In Revelation 1:12, John says, “I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me.” God wants to speak to you! Stop what you’re doing, turn around, and give Him your attention.
