Read: Numbers 8:1-9:23 & Mark 13:14-37 & Psalm 50:1-23 & Proverbs 10:29-30
Something we say a lot at NewSpring is that it is okay not to be okay. We welcome all with open arms, offering warmth to many who may have felt like they couldn’t attend church until they had their act together.
God, in His love and mercy, offers us strength, acceptance, healing and direction. He can handle our messes if we will trust Him to lead us. In Psalm 50, God states plainly who He is. The world and everything in it belongs to Him. He does not need our lip service and vain sacrifices. He does want us to offer Him praise, but He also wants us to follow through with our commitments to Him. In Psalm 50:15, God says, “call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” Did you ever stop to think that by calling on God you honor Him?
Get real with God. Talk to Him. Tell Him your doubts and your struggles. Praise Him for who He is and give Him the chance to show you His salvation. We don’t have to come to him with our acts together and pretend everything is okay. But, as we trust and honor and obey Him, God will replace our struggles with His righteousness. He is our refuge and our peace.
