In Swaziland, community caregiver Thandi Dlamini gives her patient, Meshack Ginindza, 35, a facecloth from her caregiver kit.

Church groups pack caregiver kits for volunteers to use to serve their neighbors who are ill.

"When reading the note you can tell that the person who prepared the kits is a Christian and it is very inspirational,” says Thandi. “I usually pray for them because they prepared it with love.”

Reflection on God’s call to serve the poor:

“If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.” —Deuteronomy 15:7

Great King, help us to cultivate the compassionate heart and attitude you require towards children and families in need. Remind us to regularly share of our bounty with those who have much less.
