Two months before, Amanuel was desperate because of the challenges of finding clean drinking water near his home. His siblings and his parents seemed to be always ill because of waterborne diseases. His health and school performance were poor and his parents had to spend and spend for medicine.
Now that his community is getting a well, “I cannot tell you how much pleased I am,” says Amanuel.
“I will no longer get sick and miss class as before. The money that my parents were spending for medicating myself and the entire family will be used for improving our lives.”
Amanuel is not the only child delighted to see a machine drilling for water in his village. All the village children danced and sang as drilling began.
