Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He hasn’t changed and never will change. And what He did in the first century, He is doing in the 21st century.

Acts 10:38 (NASB®)      

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

 

This is an interesting description of Jesus. During Jesus’ days on the earth, God was with Him and empowered Him to go about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. The Bible also tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He hasn’t changed and never will change. And what He did in the first century, He is doing in the 21st century. So Jesus is in the earth today—in our families, our churches, our communities—to do good and to deliver all who are oppressed. We sometimes think that Christianity will impose restrictions on our lives that will make us less fulfilled, less joyful, less content. That’s obviously not true when Jesus Christ is living and working among us, doing good and bringing about God’s purposes in our lives.

 

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, open my heart to believe in Jesus, to know that He is alive and well – my High Priest, my Intercessor – the One who gave His life that my life might be transformed. Thank You that neither sickness nor demonic oppression nor any dark force can stand before the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Let Your victory fill my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
