Forgiven
Description
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1
Christ asks us to forgive others, and sometimes, we need to forgive ourselves. This verse is helpful when I am trying to forgive myself. I need to remind myself that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Jesus took away all condemnation when he died on the cross. The sins that I have committed and will commit are forgiven, if I am a follower of Christ. Even if I “feel” guilty, I need to trust that I am forgiven.
In the life of a mom, this truth is essential. If you carry around guilt from your past, it will taint every aspect of your life and you will, in turn, pass that sense of unworthiness onto your children. Accept the gift of forgiveness that Jesus paid such a high price for. Memorize Romans 8:1, “...there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Remember that truth and teach it to your children as they grow.
Prayer
Father, thank You for sending Your son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. Because of Jesus, I am forgiven and my debt of sin has been paid. Thank You Father that I am not condemned because of my sin, but forgiven. I choose today to forgive myself. Thank You for such a gift of grace.
