Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
Being forgiven is powerful. Through Jesus, anyone who accepts Him, as their Lord and Savior, is forgiven of their sins. Think about that. All the sin that you have ever committed and will ever commit is wiped clean. Along with forgiveness, there is no more shame and no more guilt. This gift is almost too much to accept for Christians and many times we don't accept it, telling ourselves it cannot be true or there is no way God could forgive what I have done. But, the truth is, Jesus forgave you of ALL your sins.
Jesus paid a very high price to wash your sins away and that price was His life on a cross. He died a brutal death and all of the sins of the world were placed on Him that day, at Calvary. Consider the unbearable burden on Jesus- carrying all the sins of the world, all the guilt and all the shame. But, He bore it out of love for all mankind. Don’t let His death be in vain. Accept the wonderful gift of forgiveness today and forgive yourself. Jesus paid too high of a price for you not to forgive yourself. You are free from sin, so live and rejoice in that freedom today.
Father, The price Jesus paid on the cross for my sin is too much to comprehend. I feel guilty for my sin alone- I cannot imagine bearing all of the sin of the world at one time. Thank you God for sending Jesus to pay for sin. Thank you Jesus, that You loved us all that much. I accept Your forgiveness and I am choosing today to forgive others in my life that have hurt me and I am choosing to forgive myself. I am not going to walk around anymore bearing my shame- You have already taken it away, so I refuse to continue to drag it around with me. Thank You God! Your love is amazing!
