Forget What's Condemning You

Description

Is the person you once were preventing you from becoming the person that God wants you to be? God doesn’t condemn you for what you did as soon as you ask forgiveness and live in agreement with His will.

Have you ever tried to run a marathon with a 75-pound bag on your back? Probably not ... and all the better! It wouldn’t be easy, would it? 😊

The Bible talks about these burdens that can slow you down in your race. What race? The race of life that you’re running for God!

Without a doubt, the heaviest burden is the one you carry in your conscience: the weight of your sins and your past. So what do you think? Are your past choices and the person you once were preventing you from becoming the person that God wants you to be? Preventing you from living free from all guilt and thoughts of condemnation?

The Bible is clear concerning this ... here are two verses:

  • “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (see Romans 8:1)
  • And the second: “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (see Philippians 3:13-14)

God doesn’t condemn you for what you did as soon as you ask forgiveness and live in agreement with His will. The part you have to play is running, forgetting what is behind. In other words, don’t let what’s condemning you (your mistakes, your faults, your past) stay in your mind because God Himself isn’t thinking about these things any longer! (see 1 John 1:9, Micah 7:19, Hebrews 8:12)

Jesus wants to see you enthusiastically run the race He has prepared for you for His glory. He lifts from you all that’s weighing on you and slowing you down. He makes you pure and clears your conscience...you can run for God in total freedom!
