Forget Facebook!

Description

Jesus is the only Friend you will ever need. He is willing to chat anytime, anywhere.

"For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake." (1 Thessalonians 1:4-5, NIV)

We have an intense need to connect with others. Facebook and social media have changed the way we live, connect, and share our lives with others on a daily basis. Facebook uses software, words, and images to accomplish this task.

Paul’s message here is very clear. The Gospel of Jesus Christ invites and draws us to connect with Jesus -- nothing more, nothing less. The Gospel also uses more than words. It comes with power, the Holy Spirit and strong conviction and belief. Looking back on my spiritual journey, I have vivid memories of times the Holy Spirit came in power and: (1) held me and lavished God’s love and compassion on me (2) soothed and restored my broken heart and spirit (3) spoke revelation truth and lifted me up out of a dark pit (4) whispered with a small voice that would not stop until I took action (5) demonstrated His presence as God’s glory moved across the room and performed miracles (6) warned me of impending peril and destruction (7) pierced my heart to the core with a familiar verse (8) crushed generational curses and strongholds (9) encouraged me to take a leap of faith that led to victory (10) turned on the bright light of God’s Word that overcame the darkness of this world (11) exposed lies and deception carefully hidden by others (12) blessed me with the anointed touch that brought healing to my aching body.

Are you struggling to connect with others? If so, I encourage you to open your heart to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Invite Jesus into your life today. In a world striving to belong and to connect, forget Facebook. Say “Yes,” like, and connect with Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only Friend you will ever need. He is willing to chat and hang out anytime, anywhere.

Lord, thank you for the life-changing power of your Gospel. Today, I say, “Yes” to you Jesus. Fill me with your loving presence and change my life. Through the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
