For a Long Time

Description

Pause for a moment each day and reflect on how much is being done within the Kingdom of God, even within your local body of believers we call the church.

For a long time now--to this very day--you have not deserted your brothers but have carried out the mission the LORD your God gave you. (Joshua 22:3 NIV)

Thank you for what you do for the Lord!

I recall leading a Bible study about servant leadership in the church. When we were about to finish the study, it occurred to me how blessed I am to be in the presence of so many who serve the Lord. God's Kingdom work is getting done, just as He planned!

Whether you teach a Bible study or you simply say a kind word to those you meet, if you are a Christian, you are an ambassador for Christ! You are on a mission. You are on the mission field! You are a part in completing His Master Plan!

Recently I signed on to help with a national service organization. When I went to the first meeting, I was surrounded by faithful people. Many of them had given much of their lives to serving the organization. I knew about the organization. I knew they accomplished a lot of good work. I guess I knew someone had to do it, but I had completely under estimated the amount of man hours that were being put into the operations of this organization.

The church is much like that. Each of us have our own, individual tasks. We carry out the work of the gospel, many times simply by living our lives each day. God uses us and the work of the church is completed! Joshua, at the end of His life, realized this was the case with the Israelites.

Today, if you haven't done so in a while, pause for a moment and reflect on how much is being done within the Kingdom of God; even within your local body of believers we call the church. God is at work, through His children, and we should all be thankful for each other!
