Fleeing Conflict

Conflict and displacement are increasing in Iraq. Nearly 3 million Iraqis have fled their homes and are in need of aid.

Globally, at the end of 2014, nearly 60 million people around the world had left their homes seeking safety from conflict. Half of these displaced people are children.

Lise Grande, the U.N.’s humanitarian coordinator for Iraq, says more than 50 percent of aid programs in Iraq will be cut back or eliminated unless new funding is found right away.

World Vision provides aid to displaced families within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Programming includes food vouchers, cash assistance, Child-Friendly Spaces, mobile health clinics, clean water, hygiene promotion, and distribution of household goods.
