Fear or Faith

Description

The Bible says there should be a difference between people who choose to serve God and people who don’t — a difference in the way we live, and the peace that accompanies us.

Luke 21:25-26 (NIV®)

“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.”

Jesus is describing the season prior to His return to the earth. He says fearsome things will be happening—signs in the heavens and roaring seas. Events will be so intense and frightening that men will faint in fear of what is coming. He’s giving us this information so that our lives won’t be dominated by fear. The Bible says there should be a difference between the people who choose to serve God and the people who don’t choose to serve God—a difference in the way we live, and the peace that accompanies us. I believe one of the great opportunities in this season is for us to align ourselves and cooperate with Him to find the security and peace and confidence that comes with being the people of God. Fear or faith: this is our choice to make.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I want to do my part in aligning myself to cooperate with You. I need Your security, peace, and confidence. I want to be a student of Your Word so I understand and do not become fearful of the times I’m living in. In Jesus’ name, amen.
