Family

Description

If you are a Christian, you do have family —you are in God’s family. His door is always wide open for you to come and sit with Him and ask Him any of your questions.

Ephesians 2:19

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.

When you think of family, what pictures pop into your mind?  Do you think about a Norman Rockwell picture, a mom and dad welcoming you home for the holidays, a home where love is over flowing and never runs out?  Family should be a place where you can be yourself and know you are loved and accepted just the way you are.  That sounds amazing and wonderful…who wouldn’t want a family like that?

But, not everybody has family.  Some people are all alone in this world.  Maybe you are one of those people. Maybe your parents died in a tragic car accident or you were born an orphan.  Perhaps you have family, but they live thousands of miles away and you feel very alone, especially in this journey of motherhood.

If you are a Christian, you do have family —you are in God’s family. You are not alone —you are a member of God’s loving household.  God loves you and accepts you just the way you are.  His door is always wide open for you to come and sit with Him and ask Him any of your questions. He actually knows more than your mom, because He created your children.  He is the Father of all. You belong to a great big family —God’s family. Celebrate that today and enjoy all the blessings that come with being a child of God.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for being my Heavenly Father and for accepting me into Your royal family.  God, I don’t know what I would do without Your guidance and love for me. Teach me, Father, to create a loving family that is full of Your presence.
