Are you trying to be the focus of attention or is your aim to make God famous?

“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known." Habakkuk 3:2

In our everyday life, the focus seems to be on popularity and fame. From our earliest days in school, in our work environment, our neighborhood or our social circles, we all strive to be the star of the show. In our daily contact, we tend to say and do things that will make us known to those we come into contact with. More and more, people seek to be famous.

But to get the most out of life, our real focus should be on making God famous. Throughout Scripture, God challenges us to take the focus off of ourselves and to place it one Him. Because He knows that anything else will leave us longing for more. Are you trying to be the focus of attention or is your aim to make God famous?

No matter how well known you are, ask God to use you to point people to Him and help you to make Him famous.

Today, make the focus of your conversations not yourself, but on pointing people to God and all that He has done in your life. Bring up the truth about how God has blessed you to be where you are, have what you have, and do what you do.
