Face the Truth

Description

One of the most powerful realities of establishing a relationship with Christ is the fact that we are forced to face our sin.

“Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her. “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.

Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband - for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!  John 4: 16-18

THINK

One of the most powerful realities of establishing a relationship with Christ is the fact that we are forced to face our sin. Without conviction, there is no conversion. When Jesus confronts the woman at the well with the truth, she has nothing to do but own up to it.

How prepared are you to face the truth when confronted with it? Whatever history we might have, the good news is that our past doesn’t determine our future. Jesus already knows everything about you. And yet, he loves you enough to want more for you. That only happens when you get honest about your condition before him.

PRAY

Open up your life to God. Admit to Him how you have fallen short of His standard. And pray for the opportunity to experience that new path with Him.

ACT

Write down three things in your life that you have tried to keep from God. Now, tear the list up as a symbol that you won’t keep those from God any more.
