Experience His Love
God wants us to experience His love! So far, we’ve identified that He is love. He is rich in mercy. He wants us to know, and believe the love He has for us. Today, let’s talk about how to experience His love.
Let’s look at Ephesians 3:19 from the Amplified Bible:
“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”
His love is four-dimensional; it’s wide, deep, long and high. And He wants us to know His love in all of its dimensions––practically, through experience for ourselves. If you need a major, continual, real revelation of His love for you––here are some things you can embrace to receive His love.
Meditate: Meditate on all of the Scriptures concerning God’s love. Ponder what each word and phrase means to you. Put yourself in each verse. For example, if we take this verse “…God is love,” (1 John 4:8, AMP), what would that look like in your world – in your daily life – to know His love experientially?
Pray: Pray the prayer in Ephesians 3:14-20 for yourself and soak in each word. Remember, when we ask anything according to His will He hears, and if we know He hears us, we know we have the petition we’ve asked of Him. When you ask and believe Him for a fresh revelation of His love – He’ll give it to you.
Say: Speak about God’s love, His generosity, His care for you, His goodness, His mercy and His kindness all day long. Say things like, “I know God loves me and not only do I know it – I believe it
Say It: “Father, I know You love me and not only do I know it – I believe it. I believe You are rich in mercy. You are so loaded with mercy that You don’t give me what I deserve and You go overboard in giving me what I don’t deserve. I know You are love and You love me. Today, I pray that I would be rooted and established in Your love, and have power, together with all Your people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. I pray that I would know this love that surpasses knowledge – practically through experience for myself – and that I would be filled with the richest measure of God and be filled with Your divine Presence. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
