Encountering Jesus

Read: Judges 13:1-14:20 & John 1:29-51 & Psalm 102:1-28 & Proverbs 14:15-16

Do you remember, when you first met Jesus, what it was like to understand who He was and what He had done for you?

After spending an entire day with Jesus, Andrew was a changed man. The Bible says that, after leaving Jesus’s company, “the first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘we have found the Messiah’” (John 1:41).

When Philip experiences a quick encounter with Jesus, he immediately goes and tells Nathanael, “we have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote” (John 1:45).

There’s a pattern in scripture: As people meet Jesus, they are compelled to introduce Him to others.

Is this a pattern in your life? The Bible never says it’s easy to tell others about Jesus, but it is necessary and it should be natural. If you haven’t felt compelled share Christ with others, or if you feel a sincere fear about doing so, pray, and ask God to reveal who He wants you to speak to. When He shows you, all you have to do is obey.
