Embrace Your Blessing

Description

Whatever blessing God has for you try and accept it, embrace it, hold it ever so close to your heart and try not to be afraid in doing so.

Luke 24:36-43 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.

I love how God can make Himself so human for us to relate to Him; to help remove our fears; our doubts. How does Jesus prove He’s not a ghost? He eats a fish. That act of humanness, that common, everyday process of eating is a great illustration of how God lowers Himself to the realm of our understanding.

So maybe you have something really great in your life, something that God has prepared for you and is showing you. Maybe it’s a new spouse or an old spouse; a bouncy baby boy or a somewhat tired middle aged man. Whatever blessing God has for you try and accept it, embrace it, hold it ever so close to your heart and try not to be afraid in doing so. Try not to doubt. Trust in the hope of the One who has provided the blessing.
