Dr. Blessings

Description

Thank the Lord for the ability and resources that allow you to give.

Wadson Blessings is a rising medical student with a bright future. He overcame poverty and dedicates himself to helping others.

A World Vision sponsored child, Wadson was orphaned at age 9. He and his three brothers were raised by their grandmother in southern Malawi.

He recalls receiving food support from World Vision when their grandmother could not fetch enough to feed the family during lean periods.

“Sometimes we would sleep on an empty stomach due to the food challenges. Time and again, apart from depending on family members who supported us, World Vision also gave us support,” says Wadson.

Childhood friends and many young children gathered around him, he says, when he went home for his first college holiday. They asked him many questions about Blantyre, the city where he lives, his education, and whether his studies are challenging.

“I was very happy to share with them my experiences as a college student. I am happy that many of them were so hungry to learn more and I even hear that many children at my village primary school are also working hard because they all know what I have gone through and they have the faith that if they learn, the way I am doing, our future will be just bright,” says Wadson.

He continues: “I want to contribute to my community’s development with the skills I am acquiring and even inspire other children that despite all the challenges they encounter, if they keep working hard, everything is possible.”

Acts 20:35 “…It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Thank the Lord for the ability and resources that allow you to give.
