Doors of Possibility

Description

Jesus is alive today, sitting at the right hand of God, waiting to be called on by those of us who love Him.

Hebrews 13:8 (NIV®)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

There are many people in academic circles, even in ministry, who consider Jesus to be a first-century teacher of Scripture who had stories of healings and miracles associated with Him. But that is not the complete story of Scripture. The Jesus we meet in the Old Testament, the pre-incarnate Christ, and the Jesus we meet in the gospels is the same Jesus who is interacting with you and me today. He was present at creation described in Genesis, He came to live and die for our salvation, and every knee will bow when He returns to judge the earth as foretold in the book of Revelation. Hebrews 13: 8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 7:25 says that He “lives to intercede” for us. This opens wide the door of possibility for us and brings Jesus into the moments of our everyday lives. Jesus is not a shadowy, historical figure who lived in the first century. Jesus is alive today, sitting at the right hand of God, waiting to be called on by those of us who love Him.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, as the Savior of the world. Thank You that even now He is sitting at Your right hand, interceding for me and all who will call on Him. Keep me focused on Your purposes, that I will be found faithful upon His return to the earth. In the name of Jesus, amen.
