When you fail — don’t quit! This is one lesson we learn from Abraham. In all of history, few names are greater than that of Abraham — the father of the Jews, the father of the Arabs, and the father of faith for Christians. Yet we see that again and again Abraham’s life was marked by failure, including lying and adultery.
But the reason we associate Abraham with faith and friendship with God is because when he failed, he didn’t quit! He returned to the altar, got right with God, and kept moving forward.
Have you failed? Are you tempted to quit? Hebrews 10:35 – 36 says, “Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
Don’t quit! Instead, return to the altar of the cross. Get right with God. Then keep going forward.
