And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
You and I will never be perfect. And what’s even more significant — we don’t have to be! Psalm 53:3 says, “There is no one who does good, not even one.”
Inadequacy and inferiority can be great blessings because they make us dependent on God. And God uses those who depend on Him.
When I honestly confess my inadequacy, it’s as though I hear God whispering, “Anne, it’s okay. I know you are inadequate. But I am sufficient. Lean on Me!” When I stand at the foot of the cross, when I take a good look at who Jesus is, how can I feel inferior? God loves me so much He gave His own Son’s life for me.
And He loves you just as much. You don’t have to be someone you’re not. You can be yourself — shortcomings and failures included.
Don’t pretend to be better than you are. Surrender your life to Him and ask Him to make you who He wants you to be! Then give Him the glory!
