If all that people knew about Jesus was what they saw in your life, how much would they know?
The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
Not long ago, I sat watching the sun come up over Santorini, a beautiful little Greek town on the rim of a volcano. The cluster of white houses draped over the rim of the volcano reflected the early morning sun. The setting reminded me of what Jesus said to His disciples, as recorded in Matthew 5:14 – 15: “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”
Don’t be intimidated into hiding your light! Ask God to use your life to bring clarity and brightness to family, friends, and neighbors, to the people you work with and go to school with, so all might “see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
If all people knew of Jesus was what they see in your life, how much would they know? Don’t hide the light. Let it shine!
