Don’t Go it Alone
In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab. Ruth 1:1
True love stories have lessons that we can learn at every turn. Today’s passage is one of the most powerful of those lessons.
When Naomi, her husband, and their two sons left Bethlehem because of a famine, they walked away from Gods’ will. They went somewhere that God never intended them to be. But like we read in their story, when we move away from God’s will, we go farther than we want to go, we end up staying longer than we want to stay, and it costs us more than we want to pay.
No matter where you are in life, make sure you are following God’s will, even when it isn’t easy. Because it’s better to be in the will of God with an empty stomach and full heart than to be outside the will of God with a full stomach and empty heart!
Thank God for where He has placed you. If you are facing a ‘famine,’ pray for the discipline and determination to stick with God’s will. Pray for the courage to overcome the situation and discover the power of His plan.
Don’t face life alone. Instead, make sure you are connected to the local church, and discover the right kind of people who can help you see past the pain of a difficult situation.
