Doing Her Part

Sweet-faced Malome carries her share of the water needed at school and home where she lives in drought-stricken Kenya.

Without a reliable source of clean, safe water close to home, her family will continue to face poverty and illness.

Women and girls bear the greatest burden for bringing home water: together they walk 200 million miles every day to bring home water. That’s a lot of 6Ks – the average distance they walk for water in sub-Saharan Africa.

When you join World Vision’s Global 6K Walk for Water on May 6, you can help bring clean water to girls like Malome – and their hardworking moms.
