Doing Good Is an Act of Worship
We have seen that there are three spiritual sacrifices that God has designated and are pleasing to him. We are the only ones who can offer those sacrifices because we are priests under the high priesthood of Jesus Christ. Now the writer to the Hebrews has told us what is a fourth spiritual sacrifice.
And do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
When we share and do good to other believers, God accepts that as a spiritual sacrifice by His priests. So when you do something kind to another believer, God views it as an act of worship directed toward Him by you as a priest. You're not only doing good to another believer; you're doing something very special for God that pleases Him and He appreciates it. This is wonderful that He has given us a grocery list, in a sense, of those things that He wants from us. So is your life directed to praise Him, to do good to other believers for Him, to support the ministry, and to use your spiritual gift? The more conscious you are about it, the more God, the Father, will be pleased.
