Deuteronomy 34

Moses blessed the children of Israel before going up to Mount Nebo to die.  After reminding them of the Lord’s great love for them, this humble servant of the Lord was granted a miraculous vision of the entire promised land even as far as the Mediterranean Sea.  The Lord Himself buried Moses in an unmarked place and his protégé Joshua was endued with the spirit of wisdom in his earlier commissioning when Moses had laid his hands on him.  Moses enjoyed a unique relationship with the Lord, in that the Lord knew him face to face.

Reading of Deuteronomy 34

Prayer: Lord, I am grateful for Your dedicated and obedient servant Moses.  I thank You that You continue use us, in spite of our lapses, when we return to You.  I ask for the grace of fidelity to You and Your purposes.
