Defining Our Lives

Description

Let’s love boldly and live bravely, passionately pursuing God’s purpose for our lives with Jesus’s kind of faith.

Read: Galatians 2:20

Too often, Christians define themselves by what they don’t do. “I don’t drink.” “I don’t smoke.” “I don’t cuss or have sex before marriage.”

It’s not bad to rid our lives of destructive habits, but God didn't send Jesus to Earth to modify our behavior. Jesus wasn't polite. He was radical, and with bold faith He offended religious people like it was His mission from God.

Why are we so afraid to speak out against convention and act boldly for Christ? Perhaps we don’t feel worthy. Sometimes I think, “I’ll get my life straightened out, and then I’ll be a bold witness for Jesus.” If we wait until we feel worthy, we will spend our entire lives waiting. Today, I am the youngest I will ever be. Why should I spend another day failing to realize my full potential in God when He has so much more in store for me?

Once you are saved, when God looks at you, He sees Christ. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

The power in us is greater than we know. Rather than squandering it on not doing bad things, let’s define ourselves by what we do. Let’s love boldly and live bravely, passionately pursuing God’s purpose for our lives with Jesus’s kind of faith.
