Dedicated Scholars

Raluca, 7, who lives in a small Romanian village, bundles up for the long walk to school.

Few children live in Mosna, Romania, so there’s no school in the village and no school bus to transport the youngsters to the next village where there’s a school. Instead the children walk nearly five miles to reach their classes, no matter what the weather.

When there’s rain or snow, the trek gets much harder. But a gift of boots from World Vision means Raluca and her friends miss very few days and arrive dry and ready to learn.
