Deal with God
All of us have become like one who is unclean and all of our righteous acts are like filthy rags.” Isaiah 64:6
When we try to “deal with God,” the baseline thought in our minds is that we have something to offer Him. We approach God with the mentality that what we are bringing to the table is worthy of tipping the scales toward our agenda. But the truth is that we have nothing to offer God.
No matter how many good things we do; no matter how righteous we try to live, the truth is that even on our best day, we fall miserably short of His perfection. And if the deal was done there, we’d all be in trouble. But the great news is that when we receive Jesus into our lives, God no longer sees our weak attempts to earn His approval. Instead, He sees the righteousness and purity of Christ.
Thank God that you do not have to prove your worth to Him or earn your way into a deal with Him. Thank Him for providing the ultimate deal through Jesus Christ.
Write down the name of one person you know who needs to understand God’s deal. Pray for this person throughout the day.
