2 Samuel 6: 14
David, wearing a linen ehpod, danced before the Lord with all his might.
There are so many things we teach to our children on a daily basis. We teach our children everything from manners, how to share, school-work, chores, how to have a good attitude, etc. One thing that we sometimes forget to teach our children is how to have good clean fun. We, as moms, get so wrapped up in how to teach our child all the “important” stuff, but we forget to have fun. Fun is a necessity in life. You don’t want to be the mom that never has fun, do you? NO!
Sometime this week, throw a dance party in your home. Crank up the music and grab your children and get in the middle of the den and dance the night away. Allow your children to pick some of their favorite songs as well, (they will love that) and give everyone permission to let their hair down a little and be free. You might surprise yourself as to how much fun you will have. Life is serious, that is for sure, but don’t forget to have fun along the way.
Father, Thank You for the gift of life. God, so many times I get bogged down in all the “to do’s” in life that I forget to have fun. I take life too seriously and end up taking myself too seriously. I want my children to enjoy life and I want them to learn that from me. Help me to loosen up and celebrate the wonderful life You have blessed me with.
