Creating Space

Invitation to Revolution

I don’t know about you, but one of my New Year’s resolutions was cleaning out closets, attics and garages. I've accomplished most of those New Year’s resolutions.

Now I’m beginning to notice this is not the only overcrowded part of my life. I also need to de-clutter my calendar to create space and time for those things that ultimately matter—relationships with the people I love and with the people who love me.

We live in a world that demands attention 24 hours a day. This attention requires we be connected, wired in, 24 hours a day. As a result of this constant demand of email, texts, social media, and all the rest, we have now become digital slaves to our electronics.

So I’m learning to turn off, unplug and push back.

What about you? Have you found your life over-crowded, over-exposed and far too open to the distractions of the world around us? If so, join me in this very quiet revolution of creating space in your life. Turn off. Unplug. Disconnect. Create some space.

Yes, by all means, spend more time with Christ, but also create more space for your family and friends – space when you are not looking at your phone every 2 seconds. Put your phone down and turn off your laptop. Love requires you pay attention.

Let’s do a quick inventory.

How much time do you have for what matters?

Is that enough?

If not, what are you going to do about it?

Made any decisions? Let me know.
