Craving Righteousness

Description

When we hunger and thirst for righteousness, what we really desire is God. He is the source of all righteousness.

Matthew 5:6  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Have you ever noticed how good camp food is when you’re camping? Have you ever noticed how bad camp food is when you’re not camping? There’s something about being really hungry that makes food taste so much better.  There’s something about being really thirsty that makes water so much better. But even though I know that being really hungry makes food taste better, I have never prayed to be hungry; I’ve never prayed to be thirsty. But I should pray, I should desire, the total benefit of completely desiring righteousness.

When we hunger and thirst for righteousness, what we really desire is God - for He is the source of all righteousness.
