"Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore." Psalm 105:4, AMP
Crave Him… those two words say it all! Notice the other keywords in this verse: seek, inquire, crave and require. They all describe a certain intensity. A proactive behavior. These are not passive words. This is not "Que Sara Sara" Christianity. This is going after God with both barrels a blazing!
I have found it interesting over the years to notice that God does not obligate Himself to be found by anyone who is not seeking Him with their whole heart. He's not obligated Himself to cater to the apathetic, whimsical, lukewarm believer. (In fact, in the book of Revelation He tells us that lukewarm believers make Him want to vomit. Pretty graphic, isn't it?)
However, God has obligated Himself to be found by those who seek Him – those who inquire, crave and require Him! Where are you today? Do you require God as a necessity? Are you craving Him to the point that you get up early, stay up late, take your lunch break and moments throughout the day to read, pray, worship and talk with Him? Do you inquire of the Lord – checking in with Him on a regular basis? Do you seek the Lord with your whole heart?
You can stir it up… I encourage you to do so today!
Say This: "Father – I seek You. I want You. I require You. Jesus – I seek You. I inquire of You and I crave Your Presence in my life. Holy Spirit – I seek You. I need You. I require You as a necessity in my life. God, I am so glad that when my heart reaches out to You – You answer and fill each and every seeking, inquiring, craving and requiring. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
