Whatever your situation, be courageous! God is with you, and He will get you through the unknown.

Matthew 14:27

But Jesus immediately said to them, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

We usually don’t think about needing courage as a mom. We try to teach our children how to be courageous and to stand strong, but we don’t ever apply those thoughts in our world. We, as moms, need courage too. When we go against the tide of what other families are doing because we feel our way is better for our family--that takes courage. When we realize it is time we start being consistent with discipline concerning our children--that takes courage. When we need to say “no” to extra commitments to stay focused on our family--that takes courage.  Moms need courage.

Courage is also needed when God asks you to take a step of faith toward Him.  It is scary to get out of our boat and walk towards the unknown.  Therefore, courage is needed.  Jesus tells us not to be afraid.  We are not to be afraid, because He will be with us in the unknown.  Maybe right now God is tugging on your heart to quit your job and be a stay-at-home mom.  Your mind has been racing, throwing up every argument as to why that would not be a good idea; financial, how would you manage, where would you get your identity? Or maybe the opposite is in play in your life--God is opening a door for you to go to work to help pay off some bills that have piled up and you are afraid of leaving your children. Whatever the situation, be courageous! God is with you and He will get you through the unknown.

I do need courage, Lord, in this journey of motherhood.  Most of the time I do not know what I am doing and I need courage to help me stay strong.  I am so afraid I will mess up.  But, God, please help me to realize that if You are with me, even if I do mess up, You will get me through any situation.  Thank You for never leaving me and always equipping me with what I need.
