Cornerstone

Description

Christ should be the center of your life, your marriage, and your home.

Ephesians 2:20

...Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone...

Who is the center of your family? For most of us, if we are honest, it would be our children. As moms, we don’t set out to put our children in the center of the family, but they can naturally squirm their way into the center and before you know it, your whole family is revolving around your child’s schedule, ball practice, likes and dislikes. For so many reasons, this is not a healthy way to live. A child naturally believes the world revolves around them. We are not doing them any favors by supporting that idea. If that happens, a child will grow up to be entitled and self-serving.

Instead, Christ should be the center of your life, center of your marriage and center of your home. Jesus is the one true cornerstone. In order for you to have a Christ-centered life, it starts in the heart. There are many things pushing and forcing their way to be the center of our heart and most days Jesus is squeezed out. We have to be very cognizant of “who” or "what" is truly at the center and fight for Christ to be our center. Just acknowledging that there is battle going on for our heart is the first step to being more aware of where Christ is in your life.

Prayer: Father, Thank you God for sending your precious Son, Jesus Christ, and for giving us such a great gift. God, I do struggle with keeping Jesus in the center of my life and I ask for forgiveness for that. My heart’s desire is for Him to be number one, but then life happens and He inadvertently gets pushed aside. Lord, will you please give me the awareness and the discipline to keep Him front and center? Thank you God for your never-ending patience with me. I love You.
