Contentment Is Learned

Description

In order to obtain contentment, we must begin to look to God and realize that everything comes from Him.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what its to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11

And my God will meet all our needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Verse 19

Contentment is learned. We are not born with it; we do not naturally posses it, but through Christ we can have it. In order to obtain contentment, we must begin to look to God and realize that everything comes from him. Be grateful for what God has given you and learn to be joyful in your existing circumstances. Chose thankfulness over discontent.

Father

God, give me a grateful heart. Open up my eyes so I will see circumstances through your eyes and not mine. God, when I struggle in life, “wanting” what others have, teach me how to be grateful for what I do have, and I pray I will choose to be thankful and not envious. Thank you, God, for meeting ALL my needs.
