Connect with Your Local Church
Description
Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).
THINK
The local church is God’s venue to help us get the most out of life. It’s been said that the local church is the hope of the world. But when things aren’t going exactly as you planned, what do you do? Sadly, many people withdraw from the church and begin to cut themselves off from God. But nothing is more dangerous in those times.
If things aren’t going exactly as you thought they would, the very place you need to be is in the church. No matter what you are experiencing—good or bad—make sure you are staying connected. Because it is in the church that you will discover the community, connection and Creator who can help you in every situation we face.
PRAY
Thank God for providing the local church. Ask Him to help you remain planted in the church, and to take your involvement to a new level.
ACT
If you aren’t part of a local church, find one to get plugged into. If you show up at church but aren’t involved, contact the church to get plugged in and serving. If you are serving, ask how you can increase your responsibilities. Make church more than a place you go; make it the place you grow!
