So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
To have confidence as a mom is a gift from the Lord. So many times in our ‘mommy realm,’ we lack confidence because we don’t know how to handle a situation with our child. We often feel ill equipped, feeling way over our heads. Keep in mind however, that we have a secret weapon at our disposal and that is the Lord God, Almighty. God is our helper throughout our day and He will guide us through this journey of motherhood. With God on our side, we cannot lose. We should be confident as a mom, knowing that God has our back.
Throughout your day today and this week, when you get overwhelmed, feeling as if you are about to drown, remember God is your helper. Cry out to Him and seek His counsel and guidance. Ask God to give you confidence, not necessarily in your own ability as a mom, but in Him. Think of it this way: pretend you were recruited to play basketball on a NBA team and you felt so ill equipped and overwhelmed. You then found out Michael Jordan was on your team…suddenly, you are not alone to carry the team…you had Michael Jordan to support, guide, and help you win. Well, in the mommy world, you have someone better than Michael Jordan…you have God on your team. Therefore, you can say with 100% of confidence, “I will not be afraid.” You can rest assured that God knows exactly how to handle every situation and He will guide you every step of the way.
Father, Thank You for being on my team. I NEED You in so many ways and You are faithful, walking beside me every step of this journey. God, give me confidence as I parent my child. Show me what to do and how to handle each and every situation that comes my way. I will not be afraid because You are with me. Thank You!
