Christmas Joy

Han Nway Nyein, age 8, attended the World Vision Christmas party in Hlaing Thar Yar East Township, Myanmar.

Han Nway Nyein has been a sponsored child for three years and always participates in the community Christmas party,

“I received books, pencils, and a ballpoint pen from World Vision for my school,” she says. She is the youngest in her family and studies in grade 3."

“We receive toys and pencils from our sponsors as Christmas presents,” she says.

Children usually gather one day before the Christmas party to help the adults decorate the hall. Han Nway Nyein came to help.

“We eat many kinds of snacks, vermicelli soup and porridge during Christmas,” she says. “I do not see any other event like Christmas celebration.”

“I am happy during Christmas because we have long school holidays,” she says.
