Choose God's Boundaries

God has set a narrow path for us to follow. It only gets wide when we choose our way.

Psalm 1:1 (NIV®)

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked.

Psalm 1:1 is a very simple statement with a very simple promise: If you will choose not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, God will bless you. It’s our human inclination to walk that way—we have to make a conscious decision not to. The distinctiveness of being a Christ-follower isn’t your wardrobe or your vocabulary or your beverage list. It’s choosing God’s boundaries for your life—for your relationships, for how you do business, for how you spend your time and resources. Whose advice are you taking for your life?  Are you willing to allow God’s counsel to fill your heart?

Heavenly Father, You see my beginning and end and know my every thought. You love me more than I can imagine, and Your will for my life is the best way for me to live in the world. I choose today to live according to the boundaries You have set for my life. Holy Spirit, help me to walk according to the ways of God, today and every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
