Checknology Before You Wrecknology

Description

In this message, we are advised to be conscious of our motives, to think before we post, and to consider the emotions and feelings behind anything we communicate online.

“Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

THINK

“Checknology before you Wrecknology!” It’s a great reminder from Pastor Ed Young as we wrap up this series on social media and technology. It reminds us to be conscious of our motives, to think before we post, and to consider the emotions and feelings behind anything we communicate online.

Social media can easily become all about “me”. But when we hyper focus on “me” with technology, we can find ourselves on a ride that pulls us away from God’s plan; it’s the ride of pride. But throughout this series, we’ve learned how to keep our pride in check. Remember that lesson as you move forward with technology. And discover how it can become a great tool to help you discover all that God has planned for you!

PRAY

Thank God for the miracles of technology and what it allows you to do in today’s world. Pray earnestly for discernment and direction as you use technology so that it doesn't end up using you.

ACT

Write down these five action steps to keep in mind as you use technology in your life:

  • Edit Your Posts
  • Remember, It’s A Tool
  • Identify Trigger Points
  • Spend Time with People In Front Of Your Face
  • Collect Technology (from your children) Everyday
