Celebrate the Good

Description

We should not be better at mourning than rejoicing. Let’s be as present in the victories as we are in the losses.

Romans 12:15 (NIV®)

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

After many years of observing Christians, I’d have to say most of us are better at mourning than we are at rejoicing, even though we all experience more victories than losses. If our neighbors are going through a rough patch, we’ll sympathize with them and pray for them and take them food—and we should. But if our neighbors are rejoicing over a victory, they’re probably celebrating alone. Let’s be as present in the victories as we are in the losses. Celebrating with others gives you an opportunity to thank God for His loving watch care over your life and to rejoice over His blessings on them too.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I lift my heart to You in praise and thanksgiving. I thank You for the victories You’ve brought me, the blessings, the places You’ve intervened on my behalf. I rejoice in Your faithfulness. I give You glory and honor because You are a faithful God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
