Be the family that is known for celebrating life well. Life is short; therefore it should be enjoyed and celebrated.

2 Chronicles 30:23

The whole assembly then agreed to celebrate the festival seven more days; so for another seven days they celebrated joyfully.

Celebrating is sometimes lost in the rush of life.  We get so busy rushing from here to there, trying to accomplish the next task or goal that we forget to hit pause and celebrate what we have just accomplished. But, celebrating is a good thing- a needed thing in our lives.  We need to celebrate family members in our home.   When your child makes an A on a test that he’s been studying hard for, it needs to be celebrated. We should celebrate Dad or Mom when they get a job promotion, or recognized in their field.  We need to celebrate life!  Hit the pause button and just have a celebration for the fun of it, because you are healthy, breathing and growing.  Sounds simple doesn’t it?  But, how many times do we make an effort to celebrate when it’s not a birthday or holiday?

These celebrations do not have to be elaborate or expensive.  Keep it simple.  Buy a gallon of ice cream and celebrate that it’s a hot summer’s day and everyone is around to enjoy an ice cream cone.  Make hot chocolate and gather around the fireplace in the winter to celebrate the end of a hard week.  Life is short; therefore it should be enjoyed and celebrated.  Be the family that is known for celebrating life well.

Father, Give me joy.  Open my eyes to ALL the things in my life that I need to celebrate and not take for granted.  God, as I go about my day, show me all of my blessings so I can give the You the glory.  I want to be a joyful person and someone who celebrates life…this life You have given to me.
