Carried Away

Description

A food distribution in India’s Uttar Pradesh state staves off hunger for families who have lost crops to drought.

In India, 330 million people are affected by drought and heatwaves. Experts say the coming monsoon rains will not be in time or bring enough rainfall to prevent further hardships.

Many people in rural areas need water for drinking and home use, food for themselves and their cattle, opportunities to earn an income, and assistance to change their farming practices.
