Can These Bones Live?

Description

We all have areas in our lives that we consider (or have considered) dead and dry. The truth is that nothing is beyond repair. Everything, by the power of God, can come back to life.

He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know” Ezekiel 37:3.

THINK

We all have areas in our lives that we consider (or have considered) dead and dry. We may have convinced ourselves that the situation is hopeless and helpless, beyond repair. The truth, though, is that nothing is beyond repair. Everything, by the power of God, can come back to life. After all, God is in the business of taking things that were once dead and bring them back to life. Ezekiel recognized this truth when he responded to God's question, "Can these bones live?"

Is there something in your life that needs to be brought back to life? Have you given up hope? Or do you recognize the truth that Ezekiel knew; that with God, anything can come back to life?

PRAY

Admit to God if there is an area of your life that needs to be brought back from death (it could be a relationship, a career, a financial situation). Thank Him for His power and ability to resurrect anything, and praise Him simply because He has that power.

ACT

Read the entire encounter Ezekiel had with God in the valley of the dry bones in Ezekiel 37:1-14. As you encounter dead, dry areas of your life, rely on this passage for the hope and truth that God can resurrect anything.
